IMPORTANT: Delayed season start

Dear fellow W.C.C. members,

In light of the Yukon government’s new public health measures announced late last week, which places restrictions on sporting teams and introduces further reduced indoor capacity limits, and in light of the recent increased number of COVID-19 cases in Yukon, your board of directors has made the decision to postpone the start of the second half of the Whitehorse Curling Club league curling season.
Please note league curling will not resume as scheduled on Monday, January 3.  The board is communicating with the Medical Officer of Health’s office to determine how the new restrictions may apply to curling in the longer term.  We will keep you informed of those discussions with the hope we can be back on the ice soon.  But, be aware all league play is suspended until further notice.  The lounge will also be closed for the period that league curling is suspended.

While league play is temporarily suspended, practice ice at the club will remain available.  The times for the availability of practice ice will be sent from the club office as soon as times for the coming week are confirmed.

The public health restrictions on sporting facilities and our club continue to be a evolving situation.  We thank you for you patience, understanding and cooperation as we work through them.
Happy New Year to all members.  Here’s hoping we can see you at the club in the near future.
