Ice-Making Legend Shorty Jenkins Passes Away

“One of Canadian curling’s iconic characters has passed away.

Longtime Canadian Curling Association icemaker Clarence (Shorty) Jenkins, known equally for the swingy ice that he produced and the pink hat he wore while doing it, died on Thursday after a lengthy illness. He was 77.” – Allen Cameron, CCA (read the rest of the article here)

The Whitehorse Curling Club offers their condolences to the Shorty’s family as well as the many friends he had throughout the curling world.  He was a true pioneer and builder of the sport and forever changed how the game is played.
